JACK BONES - WOOD TURNER
Since Christmas 2014 Jack has raised £3,000 for St Peters Hospice.
Jack Bones is a retired senior lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol. He has worked with wood as a serious hobby, mastering the craft of wood turning many years ago.
Through his passion of wood he has built boats, furniture and also instruments.
At 86, and with mobility difficulties, Jack has been able to continue this passion and skill for wood turning, by sitting at a bench–mounted lathe; producing hand crafted wooden toys and bowls in a variety of woods, both indigenous and exotic.
Jack is a dedicated supporter for the charity St Peters Hospice.
Jack funds the material costs himself and he also offers his time creating these beautiful individual bowls and wooden crafts.
All proceeds go to St Peter's Hospice.
