British designer-maker Stephanie Cole's work predominantly explores nature and the shapes, patterns and colours which excite her most. Inspirations come from a fruitful mixture of farmer's markets, British hedgerows and thought-provoking proverbs and words of wisdom...

Stephanie Cole Design was created in Stephanie's rural studio in the Cotswold Water Park, England, after making the decision to go it alone having finished a 1st class degree in Surface Pattern Design at Swansea Metropolitan University in 2010. Here, she was blown away by the rugged beauty of the Gower and the energy of living by the sea.

Back at home in the Cotswolds, she drew market towns and frequented farmers markets, turning these inspirations into her simple but informative screen printed home textiles and art prints. She has also done branding for several companies and personally commissioned art prints.

Things are working a little differently now, since moving to Finland in early 2013 with her nice boyfriend, who animates. Happily, Stephanie still draws constantly, soaking up inspiration from Helsinki, the World Design Capital 2012, and has made sure things run smoothly back in the UK- working closely with small British companies in traditional and sustainable ways.
