Clifton based Forget-me-not make Contemporary wedding and celebration cakes, specialising in seasonal sugar flowers & leaves. They will be selling Christmas cakes with handmade seasonal flower sprays along with Panforte (Italian fruit & nut cake) as gifts.

Experienced chef & baker, Nina Bullock decided to set up Forget-me-not after 18 years in independent professional kitchens within Bristol. Having worked with many clients over the years organising their weddings and parties behind the scenes, she understands the importance of every event down to the smallest detail. She wanted her cakes to reflect this.

Nina specialises in seasonal flowers & leaves, made from sugarpaste. Carefully dusted and glazed to appear as real as possible giving each cake a bright and contemporary feel. Her  first consideration is always the needs and desires of the client. She likes to work closely with them to make sure they get exactly what they are looking for. Taste is as equally important. As a chef Nina can advise her clients with their choices to make sure all their requirements are catered for.

Susan Taylor fuses screenprinting, digital illustration and hand-drawn ink drawings with experimental typefaces to create her typographical prints. Her work is greatly influenced by the years spent in the design and advertising industry, each piece having been conceived with a target audience and commercial appeal in mind. Keeping up with current trends is paramount - Susan’s primary aim is to produce affordable and fashionable art for contemporary homes. Her passion for graphic design is evident - typography, iconography, bold swathes of colour and a strong structural layout are consistently the focus of her prints. Susan sites war-time revolutionary posters, vintage book illustrations and the Bauhaus movement as her inspiration, elements of which you can see in her work.

Mullion Cove is the creation of one person’s passion for Cornwall and Food. Sophie Bowden was brought up in Cornwall and since leaving the county and living and working in London, she discovered that there was little representation of her favourite artisan Cornish producers outside of Cornwall.

So in 2009 she decided to start a business that endorsed Cornish producers and food traditions. She started trading from a market stall selling all kinds of different Cornish products from seasalt to salami but it was her own version of a Cornish fairing biscuit that was to become the best seller.  Today the fairing biscuits have become so popular that she now concentrates solely on baking in order to sell on-line, on her market stall and to supply outlets within the South West.

Paper Planet is a partnership that has been selling handmade notebooks in Bristol for 10 years. We make part of our range ourselves, using traditional tools and methods. Our other books are sourced from a family-run business in India.

We make our books with great love, care and attention to detail. They are designed to be practical, beautiful and unique. We follow no fixed formula, but try to bring fresh eyes to every book, responding individually to each piece of leather.

We spent a long time searching for the ‘right’ paper. The one we eventually chose is beautifully textured yet holds a smooth, true line and is suitable for use with watercolour, acrylic, pencil and all types of pen.

The Indian books contain hand-made paper, whose fibre has been recycled from waste from the clothing industry.

Our Indian craftspeople set their own prices for the books and we do not haggle. By buying directly from the producers in this way, we are able to ensure the books are ethically traded. Over time, the Indian craftspeople have become friends as well as suppliers.

We always keep a supply of leather and paper in stock, so please feel welcome to approach us if you want a special book made to your own design and requirements. Not all things are possible, but we will do our best to realise your vision.

Bristol based children's author Bethany Wivell is the author of 'Sam and The Very Tall Sunflower' and 'Rupert and the Runaway Robin''. All of Bethany's  stories have been inspired by the children she was lucky enough to share her house with growing up, while her mother worked as a childminder. That experience, combined with her love for reading and the outdoors came together to make 'Sam and the Very Tall Sunflower' and now 'Rupert and the Runaway Robin'.
Her books are beautifully illustrated and all come with a pack of seeds! They make lovely Christmas gifts. Bethany hopes that her books will teach children about the environment by encouraging them to copy the main character and grow their own flower, fruit or vegetable!

Referred to recently as “one of Bath’s many well kept publishing secrets”, illustrator and creator of the Rosie Flo’s colouring books, Roz Streeten, lives and works in Bath.

It was Roz’s observation of her own young daughters’ obsession and focus with drawing and colouring that led to the first Rosie Flo book being printed, back in 2004. Her daughter Sophie, now aged 16, would constantly ask “Mummy, please can you draw me some dresses?” Sophie loved drawing in the heads, legs and arms, paying real attention to the facial expressions. Younger sister Sasha, aged 12 also requested dresses a few years later, her passion being more about the colouring-in aspect. This inspired Roz to create a book with their two obsessions in mind.

The name Rosie Flo evolved from the girls’ middle names combined and these unusual books are filled with beautiful line drawn dresses enabling children to colour and draw — just as they like. Other products for children to colour have evolved out of the success of the colouring books – a prize winning colouring Fashion Show, colouring postcards, posters and our new Rosie Flo’s Colouring Pool Party.

With her graphic designer husband Steve Kamlish, a publishing business venture evolved. Six years ago they moved from London, Camden, and now live in Bath, Camden. They both enjoy living in the west country where Roz currently teaches part time at Bath Spa College of Art. She also gets involved visiting local schools to talk about her work and recently ran a workshop for the young at StoryStock Children’s Festival in London.
