Anna Falcke is a Textile Designer based in Bristol. She graduated in 1986 with a degree in Fine Art from Bradford Art College, West Yokshire specialising in Printmaking and Sculpture. She grew up in a small village near Canterbury in Kent where she lived with her Artist parents, brother and sister. Her Father had a studio in the old Butchers shop attached to their home where he encouraged his children to paint and explore colour and composition. After Art school Anna fell upon fabric design whilst making presents for gifts, which awakened an interest in textiles, she visited the local library to research different processes and set up a print studio in the attic of a house she shared. Having been very much influenced by her earlier childhood experiences and her mothers interest in antique textiles and books she became fascinated by pattern, mood and colour and has been involved in fabric design ever since. She has worked in various types of Design businesses over the years including Fabric design for print, Soft furnishings and one-off commissions for interiors, exclusive short runs of fabric for Fashion Designers and has also owned a Design led gift shop in Yorkshire. She has taught Textiles at a further education college and run Textile workshiops in Yorkshire and Bristol.

Since moving to Bristol in 2002 she has concentrated on the design and manufacturing of womens’s accessories specialising in hand painted silk velvets and devore fabrics for scarves and has designed and developed her popular pleated fleece collection of scarves, wrist warmers, hats and wraps. Her work is sold throughout the country in exclusive shops and galleries and can be bought at various retail fairs at Christmas.
